What the page showed when I loaded it
I opened the link in a headless browser on 2026-10-11. This is what I saw that day. Offers change, and a company can show different pages to different visitors.
- The link opened Tangerine's referral page, headed "Refer a Friend. Enjoy $50 each".
- Step 1 on the page: use the Orange Key when you become a Client. "It's on one of the first screens when you first sign up."
- Step 2: open an eligible account and "deposit at least $250 within 60 days". The page says the minimum deposit does not apply to mortgages and other loans.
- Step 3: "Keep a minimum of $250 in place for at least 60 days in a row."
- The page has its own FAQ and legal notes covering when the bonus is paid and which accounts are eligible. I have not summarised those here.
Before you sign up
The link goes to Tangerine's own referral page; the Orange Key is what identifies the referral. On 2026-10-11 that page said you must deposit at least $250 within 60 days and keep it there for 60 days.
Skip it if
- You can't put $250 in and leave it there for 60 days. The page lists both as conditions.
- You want a bank with branches. Tangerine is online-only.
